Hull

Jet lag.... is it real? Yes it surly is and it kicks in whenever I sit down so this might be short... (maybe). Okay Orientation weekend, so much information, meeting new people, moving into new places, and all they while learning to look for cars driving on the wrong side of he road when crossing streets... look right!

This picture is from my window so not actually my house but ours looks the exact same. 11 Cranbrook Ave. is the flat that I live in, sharing with 3 other girls. Kayla (from the states), Emma (from Sweden), and Elke (from the Netherlands) they are all great, and we have got on well. I have moved my room around a bit since my internet plug (no wireless!) was on the other side of the room than my desk... very convenient. So now I am set up to do all kinds of learnin' from this room.

I know these aren't the greatest pictures but spare me I'm tired! So anyhow after moving around and some shopping in town we have out fitted our rooms and kitchen.  Oh the kitchen, it took several times cleaning and trips to the store to make sure that we have things we need but I believe we are good since Emma and I cooked "real food" tonight for dinner! (okay she cooked and I had soup but still)

Going to town! Now that was fun Emma, Sara (from Sweden), Martina (from Germany), and I went into town. At first we had to make sure we had our money out, since none of us are from the UK and we all use different money from our home countries the pound is hard to get use to. And of course since it was a double decker bus and so we sat on the top level! Oh that was fun! Now town... really we just went right to the big mall now I know what you are thinking she went all the way to England to go to a mall! But really we needed kitchen stuff and that is where their big market is. Plus I needed to get a phone and Tesco is a one stop shopping wonder!

Karaoke Night: After a good day of shopping in town we all spent time getting ready for the party at the Union bar called Sanctuary for all of us internationals. We had a bit of fun, Emma and Sara decided that they wanted to sing and really they did a good job on Son of a Preacher Man! However there was on way that I was going to do that! It was fun with everyone just having a good getting to know each other and listening to the good that bad and the "I wish I was def"

Registration Day: I kind of feel like it was like D day with all the stuff I needed to get done and I than getting it all accomplished (well almost). Getting my computer internet fixed, poor guy who was trying to fix it was getting to frustrated I felt for him. My stubborn computer just didn't want to listen. Than signing up for the correct seminars and checking when my lectures are. I will be taking British Identity, Indian Society, and Art and Life in the Renaissance. Than getting offically registered with my ID card and everything. To bad I can't take a good ID picture to save my life, but oh well really no one sees it who cares what it looks like. After all that school stuff was done,  I got to skype with the parentals! It was 3 my time and about 8 am there time, good thing they are up early! It was good to be able to see them even my dad's computer mic wouldn't work so they typed and I talked. I miss them! And my puppies than my mom was nice and silly enough to let them see me on the computer. And than after all that more shopping at the market (not in town but down the street) but this time strictly for food since I can't live off of PB&J. Well now here I am at the end of the day and feeling so tired and its only 9:30! However I do have an early day tomorrow with my first lectures and going to the cash office and such I will sign off but I will try to make sure I post a lot so that all you back in the states hear about what is up with me in England.
